Hi, I’m Jeannine, and I’m Joyfully Mom. I became a mom for the first time at 41. It’s my dream job and I’ve wanted it my whole adult life.
It took awhile to find my own prince and start my own family. “God bless the broken road”, right? I married the silliest, most caring man I’d ever met. I wouldn’t have guessed it would be him as we had actually known each other 18 years earlier. His world is Nicholas and I, and we couldn’t be more blessed. Also, I don’t think I’d spend so much of my life smiling had it not been him I ended up spending my life with. Most days you can find me hanging out with my CEO, Nicholas.
After 18 years of working with families and children in the non-profit management sector, I now stay home to take care of my own family. A good part of my day is spent picking up the mess that I just cleaned up about 10 minutes prior, deciding what my new diet of the month will be, and many times just messing up royally and trying to fix it. Also, I try to carve out some time each day to dedicate to my blog, which I’m hoping with my whole heart will inspire others to laugh and learn alongside me.
I love serving the world by laughing with others, sharing what I learn about this mom road I’m on, and helping others by teaching them what I’ve learned through my experiences. All of them. The good, the bad, & the ridiculous. After all, sometimes I mess up. Just ask me about the tornado experiment gone wrong and the subsequent trauma my son pretends to have because of it. (I really was just trying to teach him a little science, I swear). I think I’m mostly known as the “older mom” to people who don’t really know me. That’s o.k. I had a full life before him, and now I’m bursting with everything that’s a part of my life after he completed our family. For people who know me, I hope they find me to be the friend who is fiercely loyal, kind, and somebody they love to spend time with.
I’m passionate about making my house a home, loving each day with my family, and pierogies. I love pierogies. And you know what? I make damn good ones. I can’t wait to get to know you! Xoxo
